The Jackson County Economic Development Council is a private/public partnership charged with the mission of creating new, quality jobs while sustaining and growing the existing economic base. The EDC works with partners in Jackson County and throughout Northwest Florida to match the best workers, sites, incentives, and infrastructure with the businesses growing in and moving to Jackson County.
Florida’s Great Northwest is the regional economic development organization for the Florida Panhandle. The organization is an investorāsupported 501(c)(6) not for profit corporation created to promote Northwest Florida for economic growth and diversification, advocate for economic development issues that affect the region, and collaborate to improve regional competitiveness.
The organization accomplishes this in partnership with the state and local economic development organizations, rural regional economic development organization, utility partners, private sector businesses, local government, higher education institutions, workforce boards, and community leaders.
Opportunity Florida is focused on strengthening the existing businesses within Calhoun, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, Liberty, northern Walton, Wakulla and Washington counties, and the City of Freeport (communities as designated to be part of the Governor’s NW Florida Rural Area of Opportunity).
